We are off to a really good start. The students spent the weekend with their host families. Some visited grandparents and family friends. Some went to the strawberry festival here. Luckily, the weather was sunny.

It remains somewhat cool here, 68-70 degrees as highs. The last two days, it has rained at some point during the day, but has ended up sunny by the end of the day. When they return, ask your students about how late it stays light here. I could still see light in the sky well after 10 pm last night.

We started classes this week. In culture class, we’ve been making comparisons between the respective cultures. Grammar has been reviewing. I did hear someone in the hall yesterday say, “I just love the subjunctive!” This is not something you would hear among just any group of students.

In linguistics, they watched and listened to a video that they all found interesting. And in literature, they have all chosen the books they are going to read and report on.

We teachers all feel as if they are making great strides in their manipulation of the language day by day. Some victories are smaller than others, but everyone has had victories.

I don’t have a ton of pictures of the last few days. So, I photographed each of my classes and a game activity we did today. And of course, they played cards.

We are going on an excursion to Pointe Pen-Hir and Concarneau on Friday. It should be an interesting day. I will have lots of photos and assuredly some stories. (With these guys, there are always stories!)

La photo bombeuseue attaque!

Rapt attention while the rules of the game are explained.

I don' t think she's getting it.

She gets it!

Does Dawson talk with his hands in English? He sure does in French!

"Ça suffit de toi!" The attitude works in French as well.

What am I supposed to do?

Just exactly what did Geoff say?

NOW she gets it!

I won't play cards with this group of ruffians, but Cyntia is brave.

Maggy went to great lengths to explain a recipe to Jake...and it lost her the game!
Qu'est-ce qui se passe?
